Murphy Travis Beverly

Murphy Travis Beverly passed away on November 25, 2019. Private burial, under the directions of Beresford Funeral Home in Houston, was in the family plot at the Steep Hollow Cemetery in Bryan, Texas. Murphy Travis Beverly was called Home on the evening of November 25, 2019. Born in Bedias, Grimes County on December 3, 1930, he was the youngest of seven sons of Aubrey Benton and Patti Janette (Lisenbe) Beverly. He graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in 1950, attended the University of Houston, and on August 30 married his high school sweetheart, Trevia Wooster, before moving to Houston, currently living in Atascocita, Texas.

In addition to his wife, Murphy leaves behind a daughter, Linda (Lt. Col. Ret. Gary M. Wilson) of Harvest, Alabama; grandchildren, Heather (David Joel Fortenbery) of Humble, Texas and Mackenzie Travis Wilson (Samantha Tcherneshoff) of Denver, Colorado; great-grandchildren Morgan, Madison, and Maxine Pontious and Wade Rhet Wilson in addition to Gavin and Audrey Fortenbery. He also leaves behind several Beverly nieces and nephews and extended Wooster relatives.  Murphy was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, including Robert S. (Bob) Beverly of Baytown.

He was involved in the pump business for many years before he became owner of A & M Pump Company, a distributorship of commercial and domestic pumps and allied equipment and supplies, receiving several recognition awards in industry and civic affairs.

The immediate family was ministered to by Pastor David Dunn of Grace Bible Church of Houston and Hospice Chaplain Kenneth Mc Clenny of Grace Hospice of Texas. The family wishes to acknowledge the extraordinary care given by Dr. Sebastian Herrerra, Ankush Bhatia M.D., and the attentive staff of the Memorial Herman Woodlands Hospital, Neurology Associates.
