Dorothy Mae Leonard passed away on January 1, 2020. A visitation will be held on January 5, 2020 from 2 to 4 p.m. at Navarre Funeral Home in Baytown, TX. A graveside service is to be held on January 6, 2020 at 2 p.m. at Earthman Memory Gardens Cemetery in Baytown, TX. Dorothy Mae Leonard, 90, was born March 29, 1929, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and passed away on January 1, 2020, in Nacogdoches, Texas.

She moved to Houston with her family when she was in junior high. She attended Milby High School and then went to work at Rupley Brakes after graduation. She married Edwin Arlene Leonard on March 14, 1952, and shared 54 years together before his passing in 2006. She lived in Baytown, Texas, until 2017 when she moved to Magnolia Court Assisted Living in Nacogdoches, Texas.

Dorothy loved spending time with her family and was so proud of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She had a strong spirit and a smile on her face till the end of earthly life.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Vera Leland; husband, Edwin Leonard; grandson, Kyle Edwin Novosad; sister and brother-in-law, Lorene and Harold Gilbert; brother and sister-in-law, Harrison and Rosie Leland; and sister, Betty Johnson.

She is survived by her daughter Cheryl Novosad and husband Gary of Chireno, Texas; and son Robert Leonard and wife Kathi of Mont Belvieu, Texas. Her grandchildren are Jason and Kim Novosad, Karissa and Eric Rodriguez, Karli and Justin Carr, Kade and Angie Johnson, and Katie and Russell Wilks. Her great grandchildren are Cameron Contreras, Taylor, Ashley and Erica Novosad, Kaiyah Rodriguez, Kylar Carr, Kayden and Karis Johnson, and Kaylor and Kyce Wilks.

Also surviving Dorothy are her sister and brother in law, Mary Louise and James Warner; brother and sister-in-law, George and Janice Leland; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the staff at Magnolia Court Assisted Living in Nacogdoches, Harbor Hospice, as well as her personal caregivers.

Dorothy was a member of Cedar Bayou Grace United Methodist Church in Baytown, Texas, and enjoyed the fellowship with new friends from First United Methodist Church in Nacogdoches, Texas.
