Theresa Genevieve (Gene) Auzenne, 88, of Baytown Texas passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, Oct 31, 2019.

Genevieve, the youngest of her family, was born in Breaux Bridge, Louisiana and grew up on the family farm. She met the love of her life, Peter Wilbert Auzenne, at a church-sponsored bazaar in Leonville, Louisiana.

After Peter finished his service in the Korean War, they got married and settled in Baytown, Texas to raise their family.

Genevieve tirelessly devoted her life to her husband and family.  She managed the household while lovingly raising her six children to adulthood.   She instilled in her kids a strong work ethic and sense of responsibility while providing unconditional love and encouragement.

Genevieve is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Peter Wilbert Auzenne, and their six children and seven grandchildren: daughter Bernadette and her husband John Bryan and their daughter Meaghan of Clear Lake, Texas; daughter Brenda and her husband Russell Kurtz and their children Timothy and Rebecca of Bradley Beach, New Jersey son Christopher and his children Margaret, Elizabeth, and Chase of Charlotte, North Carolina; son Gregory and his daughter Alexa of Pasadena, Texas; son Everett of Webster, Texas; and daughter Nicole of Houston, Texas, and by sister-in-laws; Beatrice Williams of New Orleans, Louisiana and Alma Auzenne of El Monte, California; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Genevieve was preceded in death by her parents, Bernadette (Auguillard) and Alex Boyd of Breaux Bridge, Louisiana; by her siblings and their spouses—Lola and Ben Lemelle of Leonville, Louisiana; William and Mazel Boyd of Breaux Bridge, Louisiana; Octavia and Calles Jolivet of Houston, Texas;  Kenneth Boyd of Breaux Bridge, Louisiana and Alvin and Jean Boyd of Breaux Bridge, Louisiana; and by her daughter in-law, Jan Vestal Auzenne (wife of Gregory).
