Emma Jean King Peterson

Emma Jean King Peterson passed away February 5, 2020. Burial will be 4 p.m. Sunday, February 16, 2020 at Sardis Cemetery in Sparkman, Arkansas. Memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, February 17, 2020 at First United Methodist Church in Camden, Arkansas.

Emma Jean King Peterson, 94, died February 5, 2020 at her home in Sparkman. Jean was born November 14, 1925 to Fay and Zelma King.

She graduated from Sparkman High School, went to Western Union Telegraph School, and then to the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville.

After graduation in 1948, she married Robert E. Peterson of Riverside Illinois. Jean and Bob moved to Crown Point, Indiana, where their four children were born; Barbara, John, Tom and Jim.

In 1967 they moved to Baytown, Texas where they lived until Bob’s retirement in 1980. In 1986 they moved to Camden, Arkansas.

She was preceded in death by her husband Bob in 2012, she is survived by Barbara Rainey and her husband Dennis of Roland, Arkansas, John and Judi Peterson of Baytown, Texas, Tom Peterson of Sparkman, Arkansas and Jim Peterson of Friendswood, Texas. Jean was Gramma to 15 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.

Burial will be 4 p.m. Sunday, February 16, 2020 at Sardis Cemetery in Sparkman, Arkansas. Memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, February 17, 2020 at First United Methodist Church in Camden, Arkansas.
