Régulo C. Garcia, Jr., also known as Da to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Régulito to his family, and the legendary Tio Wito to all of his friends and family went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on September 12, 2019, at the age of 71, surrounded by his loving family.
He was an amazing and cherished husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend and loved by all. He was a social butterfly who never met a stranger and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He would light up a room with his beautiful, infectious smile and his heart was as big as Texas and overflowed with an abundance of love and plenty of charisma. To know him was to love him!
Régulo was born in Cd. Mier, Tamaulipas, México, on October 22, 1947, to the late Régulo and Evangelina Garcia and raised in Hebbronville, Texas. He lived and raised his family in Baytown, Texas and was a member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Régulo and Evangelina Garcia and his wife’s parents, Joe and Patsy Valerio.
Régulo is survived by the love of his life, wife of almost 47 years,
Esmeralda V. Garcia. Also survived by his son Régulo Garcia III, and daughter Maricela Torres and husband Salvador; Grandchildren include Chelsie Montemayor and husband Miguel; Zana, Tatiana, Sadie and Jaxon Garcia; Great-grandchildren are Benjamin and Sophia Montemayor.
He is also survived by his brother Eliseo Garcia and wife Martha; sister Marta Jaime (and the late Heriberto Jaime); sister-in-law Adalgiza Garcia (and the late Baldemar Garcia) and numerous nieces and nephews along with his wife’s loving family.
He devoted his life to his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren because they were the pride and joy of Régulo’s life. The legacy of his kind spirit, passion for people, love for the Dallas Cowboys, and zest for life will live on through them.

Régulo will be forever remembered for his beautiful smile, gentle eyes, caring heart, and unconditional love. Although our hearts are heavy, we will celebrate his life and find comfort knowing he is singing, dancing, running and praising Jesus with our family members that have already graduated to heaven. This gentle, loving, caring, friendly, joyful and wonderful man has left a permanent mark etched on our hearts and will be greatly missed and never forgotten. Thank you to all our family and friends for all of the love, prayers and support.
In memory of Régulo, the family asks that you shake the hand of a stranger, introduce yourself and smile. You will find the world smiling back at you, reflecting the beautiful spirit of our beloved Da, Régulito, and Tío Wito.
