Lillian Rena Barrett-Williams was born to the late Pelton Barrett and Willie Mae Smith-Barrett on August 10, 1964.
Rena was baptized at an early age, under the leadership of Rev. G.S. Matthews at the Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church. She sold out and gave her life to Christ in September 2015.
She graduated from Crosby High School and studied cosmetology at San Jacinto College North.
She united in matrimony to Wayne Strange and to this union two children, Waynashia Antionette and Waynatria Antrivezz were born. After her marriage with Wayne dissolved she married Ronnie Williams on August 11, 2009 and shared their love for each other for 10 years.
She served on the praise team at the Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church and worked with the Angel Tree Ministry.
Rena learned strong work ethics from her entrepreneurial parents who owned a fast food restaurant (Barrett’s Fried Chicken) and a convenient store (Barrett’s Mini Stop). She worked for the past seven years as a chef at the Exxon Refinery in Baytown, Texas and shared her love for cooking with many throughout this community and the surrounding areas. She never met a stranger!
On Wednesday, July 24, 2019 the Lord called upon Rena and she “reluctantly” surrendered and transitioned from this life to a life beyond what eyes have ever seen. Her passing brought sadness to many hearts.
Rena is preceded in death by her parents, Pelton Barrett and Millie Mea Smith. Rena is the great granddaughter of the late Harrison Barrett, Founder of Barrett Station.
To cherish her memories she leaves her husband Ronnie Carl Williams, daughters Waynashia and Waynatria, sister Janice Barrett-Mansfield, brothers Roy (Evelyn), Larry (Deborah), Charles, Dwight (Janice), Malcolm (Dian), and Pelton Ray (Patrice), other family members include two aunts July Gayle and Elizabeth Pearsall, a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. Along with special friends Rachel, Jackie, Tandeka, and Johnny.
