A woman reported that she and a male friend returned to an apartment in the 1700 block of James Bowie about 11:40 p.m. Sunday and were confronted by his friend’s girlfriend, who was angry.
The woman, identified as 30-year-old Dajance Fair, also lived in the apartment complex, according to Baytown police spokesman Lt. Steve Dorris. She got into an argument with her and slapped her, then threw a knife at her. She did not hit her with the knife.
The assaulted woman and the boyfriend retreated to the woman’s apartment. A short time later, Dorris said, Fair started knocking on the door and breaking out windows. Fair got a candle warmer containing melted wax and threw it at the woman, hitting her in the arm with it.
Fair was charged with aggravated assault of a family member for throwing the knife at her boyfriend and assault for hitting the other woman with the candle warmer.
A vehicle reportedly fled from an officer trying to stop it for a traffic offence just after midnight Sunday morning on Ellis School Road near Harrison Street.
When the vehicle finally stopped in McNair, the front seat passenger initially advanced on the officer, yelling. Dorris said the woman, identified as 23-year-old Andrea Stevens of Baytown, initially refused to comply with being detained, but complied when other officers arrived. She was charged with interfering with public duties.
The driver, 43-year-old Yvonne Stevens of Baytown, was charged with fleeing.

An 18-year-old man flagged down a passing police officer about 3:20 a.m. Sunday in the 4300 block of North Main Street and reported that his ex-girlfriend had stabbed him as the two were walking on Blue Heron Parkway. He said the woman had his fanny pack and stabbed him when he tried to get it back.
The woman told officers that she was wearing the pack and the man followed her and aggressively tried to get the pack, finally ripping it from her waist, at which time she cut him.
The man was treated for minor injuries, police said, and the woman had abrasions around her waist that supported her version of the story. The Harris County District Attorney’s Office refused to file charges on either.
A woman reported Saturday finding a bullet lodged in the wall of the bedroom closet of her apartment, which faces the street in the 1600 block of Garth Road.
