Swing Choir

The Barbers Hill Swing Choir, above, directed by Nikki Thompson and Chris Truitt  will perform along with many others at Sunday’s Love Network of Baytown Easter/Spring Community Concert at Second Baytown Church, 6227 N. Main St. in Baytown. The concert starts at 6 p.m. and admission is free. 

1 The Baytown Parks and Recreation Department will offer Free Driving Range Fridays at Evergreen Park starting today and ending April 26. It will last from 4 to 6 p.m. with participants needing to bring their own golf clubs. Free buckets of balls will be provided. Evergreen Park is located at 1530 Evergreen Road. 

2 The Love Network of Baytown will have its annual Easter/Spring Community Concert at 6 p.m. Sunday at the Second Baptist Church located at 6227 N. Main Street. Admission is free. Donations will be accepted as local musicians perform throughout the evening. Non-perishable food and hygiene items will also be accepted during the concert. 

3 The Disabled American Veterans Chapter 126 of Baytown is inviting disabled veterans to its Call to Arms even in order to build up membership. The event will be from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the VFW Post 912 Hall located at 8204 N. Main St. Saturday. DAV members are invited to attend with one guest. If there is more than one guest, there will be a charge of $10 per plate. For more information call 936-994-6564. 

4 La Porte will have its Main Street Trade Days from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday on 208 W. Main St. Shoppers will have the opportunity to browse antiques, collectibles, re-purposed furniture and artisan vendors. The event happens the first of every month. There are also opportunities to visit eclectic shops and eat lunch. 

5 Car enthusiasts will make their way to the Kemah Boardwalk this weekend for the Camaro Car Show. The car show will be from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and will be brought to you by the H-Town Camaro Club and benefit Kidz Harbor Children Shelter. Participants can register onsite from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. with an entry fee of $45. Judging will be from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. with awards presented to winners at 4 p.m.
