The Subway sandwich shop in the 7500 block of Garth Road was robbed about 8:20 p.m. Saturday.
Reportedly a black man in his mid-20s entered the business with a blue bandana over his face. He approached an employee, pointed a handgun at the employee and demanded all of the money from the register and safe.
The employee complied and the robber fled the area on foot, according to Baytown police spokesman Lt. Steve Dorris.
Unreal estate agent
A man reported to police Friday that he received an email he believed to be from his real estate agent instructing him to wire money to an account to cover closing costs for a house he is buying.
He complied, but later got a call from the real estate agent asking for payment for closing costs.
His agent said she had not sent the email or received the money.
A resident of the 2800 block of West Baker Drive found a broke patio window and a bullet hole in the wall of her apartment when she got up Saturday morning.
Police had received a report of someone hearing shots fired in the area about 4 a.m., but were unable to find where they came from. No injuries were reported.
A fatal gunshot wound reported Saturday in the 3200 block of East Cedar Bayou Road was determined by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences to have been self-inflicted.
• An attempted vehicle burglary was reported in the 1800 block of Ivie Lee Street about 5:15 p.m. Sunday.
• An auto theft was reported in the 2300 block of Taft Drive early Saturday.
• Tools worth nearly $500 were reported stolen from a vehicle in the 1000 block of North Bend Drive Saturday.
• A truck was reported stolen from the 4900 block of Garth Road about 8:30 p.m. Sunday.
