William Grigsby is out as Anahuac City Administrator after the city council fired him for “lack of confidence” at its Oct. 15 meeting.

The agenda for the meeting included an item “for deliberation regarding personnel matters to discuss the employment, evaluation, reassignment, duties, discipline or dismissal of William Grigsby-City Administrator.”

Similar items were on the agenda for City Secretary Julie Harvill and Public Works Director Cort Fyvie, but did not lead to action in those cases.

Harvill said the action was effective immediately. “The Mayor is working with group to fill the position on temporary basis while the City looks for a new City Administrator,” she said in response to a question from The Baytown Sun about when the position would be filled.

Mayor Cheryl Sanders did not respond to an email request for comment on the termination.
