1 Take in some pizza with some cool buds if skateboarding is your things. For Skaters By Skaters will host a pizza jam from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Unidad Skatepark. There will be free pizza and free drinks offered at the event. For Skaters by Skaters looks to elevate skaters to be the best they can be and cultivate the local scene. Unidad Park is located at 2510 J B Lefevre Road in Baytown.
2 There will be a battle of titans Saturday afternoon as the First Responders square off on the diamond in the 2nd Annual Guns and Hoses Softball Challenge. The event will be from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Wayne Gray Sports Complex. Both the fire and police departments will be paired off with special needs kids in the community for the Field of Dreams game at 11:30 a.m. Games between the fire and police will be from 1 to 3 p.m. There will also be food and activities for the kids.
3 The Highlands Rotary Club will host its 13th Annual 3-hole Washer Board Charity Tournament. Participants must register at Charlie’s Ice House by 1:30 p.m. Saturday. Entry fee is $50 with trophies and cash prizes. Monies raised from the tournament will be used to fight polio with hall the money returned for a community project. Charlie’s Ice House is located at 906 N. Main Street.
4 Break up the monotony of the weekend with a visit to Houston Raceway Park Friday and Saturday. Three episodes of All Out Live will be filmed. All Out takes the smack talk from the computer to the pavement. It will take place at 5 p.m. Friday and 11:30 a.m. Saturday. There will also be a fan interactive game show during the event with fans in the stands and viewers online watching. Tickets will be available at the raceway located at 2525 South FM 565.
5 It will be a great day for a feast Saturday at Midtown Park. The Houston Jerk Festival will be from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. and feature a cookout, competition, food trucks, live music, kid zone and more. General admission tickets are $20. Midtown Park is located at 2811 Travis Street.
