The Baytown Symphony Orchestra will kick off its 52nd season this weekend with Dvorak “From the World,” along with other masterworks by Ludwig van Beethoven and Jules Massenet.

The concert will start at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Lee College Performing Arts Center.

Student tickets are free at the box office before the concert.

For ticket information call 281-425-6255 or visit www.Lee.edu/pac/home/m/.

Comprised of local citizens, students and professional musicians, the orchestra features violinist Dr. Danny Wong, who works at Altus Baytown Hospital and Methodist Baytown Hospital.

While Wong first started playing violin in middle school and continued throughout high school and college, he put the violin away while studying medicine at the University of Texas. Thirty-six years later, Wong would pick up the violin once again and started taking lessons with Alan Johnson, the concertmaster of the Baytown Symphony in 2017. Within six months he played his first concert with the Baytown Symphony Orchestra and will do so again this Sunday.
