Kate Lightfoot, site manager of the Baytown Chemical Plant for ExxonMobil, will be the keynote speaker at the Lee College fall commencement ceremonies set for Saturday, Dec. 14.
“We are very excited to have Kate Lightfoot speak to our 2019 graduates and their families and friends. Lee College’s longtime relationship with ExxonMobil makes it even more special as we usher these graduates into the future, whether that be employment or continuing on to a four-year university,” said Dr. Dennis Brown, president of Lee College.
Lightfoot has a Bachelor of Science degree in chemical engineering from the University of Arkansas, and an MBA from the University of Houston – Clear Lake. She joined ExxonMobil in Baytown in 2002 as an experienced hire, and served at the Baytown Chemical Plant from 2002 until 2011 in various Technical and Process roles. She then moved to the Baytown Olefins Plant from 2011 until 2016 in various Mechanical and Process leadership roles.
In 2016, Lightfoot became the Polyethylene Growth Business Readiness Manager at the ExxonMobil Spring campus before returning to Baytown as the Baytown Chemical Plant Process Manager in June 2017. She was appointed site manager in 2018.
Two commencement ceremonies are planned for Saturday, one at 10 a.m. and another at 2 p.m. in the Lee College Sports Arena at 550 Lee Drive in Baytown. Ceremonies will also be streamed live at http://www.lee.edu/leetv/.
