MONT BELVIEU — The City of Mont Belvieu approved economic agreements for the Targa expansions Monday night.

Targa plans to build three new fractionators and has already started construction on the first phase and expects to be completed with all three phases by 2022, according to Brian Ligon, city spokesman.

“Targa Resources’ $750 million investment in these projects will mean an additional $350 million in property value to the City of Mont Belvieu,” Ligon said. “The agreements that were passed last night will allow Targa Resources to move forward with their planned expansions which will, in turn, generate over $14.5 million in new revenue for the city over the course of the next 10 years.”
