Sterling Municipal Library staff — Lesley Kohles and Catherine Beverly — will host a live presentation of the 100th episode of the podcast: AllBooked! on Tuesday, Jan. 28 during the Friends of the Library annual meeting.

The Friends of the Library annual meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 28, at Sterling Municipal Library.

Open to the public, annual meetings have historically featured a guest speaker from the area such as an author or community member. This year’s meeting will be the first of its kind, however. Library staff will host a special, live presentation of the 100th episode of the podcast: AllBooked!

AllBooked is a book review podcast where the hosts invite readers to discuss their favorite books and why those books appeal to them. Favorite episodes have included one teen’s frustrated review of The Old Man and the Sea, and an episode reviewing a true crime book about the Golden Gate Killer, who was caught not long after the book was released!

“We wanted to make a podcast that was short enough for listeners to enjoy during a commute down Garth Road, but with enough substance to make you want to pick up a new read,” librarian and show host, Lesley Kohles, said. “If you want to find books for yourself or even as gift ideas, you can find us at allbooked.podbean.com or through iTunes or Spotify.”

The guest book reviewer for the 100th episode is Kevin Troller, Baytown assistant city manager. He will be reviewing a few Mitch Albom novels. The first 30 guests at the annual meeting will receive a free copy of “Timekeeper” by Mitch Albom.

“Getting a behind the scenes look at how a podcast is recorded and produced is a rare opportunity,” Library Director Jamie Eustace said. The Sterling Municipal Library looks forward to commemorating this exciting 100th episode with the Baytown community. Please join us!”
