A Highlands woman was killed and a man injured in a motorcycle crash in the northbound lanes of Highway 146 north about 4:40 p.m. Thursday.

Baytown police spokesman Lt. Steve Dorris identified the deceased woman as 66-year-old Katherine Gentry of Highlands. She was the passenger.

The driver of the vehicle, a 67-year-old man, was conscious but appeared to have head injuries from the crash, Dorris said. He was flown to Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston for treatment.

Investigators found that the vehicle, a Harley Davidson three-wheeled motorcycle, was travelling north on Highway 146 when it approached a white truck which was stopped in traffic.

The driver attempted to slow and avoid hitting the truck, but hit the concrete median barrier then the rear of the truck.

Dorris said there is no indication alcohol was involved in the crash.
