There will be no criminal charges after a Baytown police investigation into the alleged loss of $6,000 from the Bowie Elementary School PTO.
Goose Creek CISD officials reported the loss to Baytown police in early May, and dissolved the PTO.
Baytown police spokesman Lt. Steve Dorris said detectives examined both organization and bank records.
“After a thorough review we were able to account for all but about $500 of the approximately $6,000 in question,” he said. “The unaccounted money appears to be a result of poor record keeping and not anything nefarious.”
A man and woman got into a dispute involving a knife when the man arrived home early and found another man in the apartment in the 1800 block of James Bowie.
Police said he picked up a knife from the kitchen and ordered the other man to leave, leading to an argument between him and the woman.
No direct threats were made and the District Attorney’s Office declined to accept charges.
