Sea Scouts take Hempstead

Posted: Wednesday, December 4, 2013 12:00 am

In late November, the Sea Scouts of Ship 93 participated in the Civil War re-enactment of the battle of Liendo Plantation. This was located on the grounds of the antebellum plantation just north of Hempstead.

The scouts depicted a Civil war Confederate landing party from the CSS Neptune. The group led by Boswain Brenna Plante and Skipper Charles Woody along with 18 other adults and scouts stepped back in time to the 1860s.
