Grand Parkway Infrastructure, LLC will close down a portion of Business 146 eastbound Saturday to improve drainage in the area.
Chris Neil, spokesman for Grand Parkway Infrastructure, said Business 146 would be closed eastbound between Wismer Road and Highway 99 to install drainage culverts and inlets where segment 1-2B of Highway 99 will be constructed.
The closure will begin at 8 a.m. Saturday and will conclude no later than 8 a.m. Monday.
“Motorists traveling eastbound will be detoured at Wismer Road,” Neil said. “We appreciate the public’s patience. Crews will try to minimize this closure to the extent possible.”
Construction of Segment 1-2, from north of Fisher Road east to Highway 146 near the Fred Hartman Bridge, is ongoing and slated to last through 2022.
Once the Grand Parkway is complete, it will be a 180-mile circumferential highway traversing seven counties in the Greater Houston area.
