Come Oct. 1, neighborhoods across Baytown will host National Night Out events to encourage neighbors to get out and meet one another while also building a relationship with law enforcement through public, celebratory events.

The Baytown Police Department Crime Prevention Division encourages all citizens of Baytown to take the time to attend their neighborhood events.

Neighborhoods and groups can register their National Night Out events by visiting

As part of registration, event organizers can request appearances of specialized police units like SWAT and mounted patrol or can request for city council members to attend an event.

The registration deadline is Sept. 25.
