Snow cones

Lauren Siple, volleyball coach at GCM, flavors her snow cone with “Tiger’s Blood” syrup during a snow cone party hosted by Bates Collision Centers and Kona Ice.

Bates Collision Centers showed their appreciation for Goose Creek Memorial High School teachers with a snow cone party held at the school on Thursday.

GCM won a Facebook contest posted by Bates in which people had to like Bates Facebook page, share the post, and leave a comment of their favorite school. The post was shared over 700 times. The winner was drawn on Wednesday.

Teachers cheered as the Kona Ice truck pulled up in front of the school.

Over 200 teachers lined up to get Bates cups filled with ice, which they got to flavor themselves.

A few people even took selfies in front of the Kona Ice truck.

“It is so awesome to see the school pride in our community, from teachers, parents and students,” said Leila Bates, vice president of Bates Collision Centers. “Thank you to all who participated in this contest.”

Good to know about the Snow cone surprise for GCM teachers. This was such a sweet gesture of you to do this for teachers, I read about it at best dissertation too. I love snow cones, I will share this idea to my friends and we will implement doing it soon.
