I started working at Humble Oil & Refinery in June 1969 as an electrical engineer.

My father had encouraged me to apply. After I was working there, he asked me if I like it. “Dad I kind of like it, but there sure like to joke with me.”

“Well, only let the ones you like joke with you,” he said.

“Dad, they must really like me,” I said.

We became friends with so many people and are still friends today.

I worked there 31 years.

I still have my badge.
