Goose Creek CISD FFA students participated in recent Leadership Development Events.

Goose Creek CISD FFA students competed in the recent Gulf Coast District Leadership Development Event (LDE) with some advancing to Area and one student earning the opportunity to compete at the State level. 

Cassie Rogers, freshman FFA Creed Speaker from Ross S. Sterling High School competed in the State FFA LDE at Sam Houston State University, placing in the top 24 for Junior Creed Speaking. There were 633 entries in this category from across the state.

To start out the competitions, students competed at the Gulf Coast District LDE at Turner High School in Pearland ISD. Goose Creek Memorial FFA students competed in Senior Skills (3rd place, advanced to Area); Junior Skills (3rd place, advanced to Area); Junior Quiz (1st place, advanced to Area); Ag Advocacy (3rd place, advanced to Area); Job Interview (4th place); Senior Quiz (6th place); GH Creed (6th place); Senior Creed; Public Relations and Radio Broadcasting.

Stuart Career Tech FFA students competed in Junior Creed Speaking (2nd place, advanced to Area); Junior Skills (5th place); Junior Quiz (4th place); Job Interview (6th Place); Radio (8th place) and Senior Skills (8th place). 

Robert E. Lee High School FFA students competed in Ag Issues (3rd place, advanced to Area); GH Creed; Job Interview; Radio; Senior Creed; Senior Quiz and Senior Skills.

Sterling High School FFA students competed in Senior Skills (1st, advanced to Area); Junior Creed Speaking (1st, advanced to Area); Junior Skills (2nd place, advanced to Area); Senior Chapter Conducting (5th place); Senior Creed Speaking (4th place); Public Relations (5th place); Radio Broadcasting (5th place); Job Interview (11th place); Junior Chapter Conducting (4th place); Junior Quiz (12th place) and Senior Quiz.

Students advancing to the Area III Leadership Development Events competed November 15 at the Berry Center in Cypress. GCM competed in Senior Skills (7th place); Junior Skills (6th place); Junior Quiz (12th place) and Ag Advocacy (12th place).

Stuart Career Tech FFA competed in Junior Creed Speaking (12th place), and Lee FFA competed in AG Issues (12th place). Sterling FFA competed in Senior skills (8th place), Junior Skills (8th place) and Junior Creed Speaking (2nd place, advanced to State).

For the 2019 Texas FFA Leadership Events, there were 5,418 total entries, including 701 in Senior Creed Speaking; 635 in FFA Broadcasting, 633 in GH Creed Speaking and 488 in Job Interview.
