Donna and Jerry Ruyle of Baytown are celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary. They met on a blind date in 1957 and were married on June 5, 1959 in Houston and made their home in Baytown. The couple have four children, Jerry Ruyle, Jr., Garry and Vicki Ruyle, Kerri and Richard Lucas and Terri Watson all of Baytown. They have nine grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. 

Jerry was a plumber by trade and took over his family business, Fulkerson’s plumbing in 1981. Donna was a homemaker until 1973 at which time she started working for GCCISD as a bus driver. In 1981, she went to work with Jerry at their business. In 2013, they elected to retire after working side-by-side for 32 years. 

They will celebrate their anniversary June 15 with family and close friends. The celebration will also take place on Jerry’s 80th birthday.
