The Baytown Police Department will offer two Rape Aggression Defense (R.A.D.) Self-Defense training classes for women 15 and older. 

The classes are free and will be held in March and April at the Baytown Community Center. 

The comprehensive program is taught by officers who are nationally certified R.A.D. instructors that aims to teach techniques, tactics, awareness and risk-reduction that can aid in self-defense. The class is 12 hours long divided into four 3-hour sessions. The dates for the self-defense training are:

• Class 1- March 17, 19, 24 and 26.

• Class 2- April 14, 16, 21 and 23.

Classes will be held 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at the Community Center, Tejas Room, 2407 Market St.

Participants must be able to attend all four sessions of the class. A $25 deposit is required to hold a spot.
