Houston Methodist Baytown staff and Baytown Family YMCA officials with the 150 backpacks donated by hospital employees.

Houston Methodist Baytown Hospital staff donated 150 backpacks to benefit the Baytown Family YMCA’s Operation Backpack.

The backpacks filled with school supplies were donated by staff from each of the hospital’s units to benefit the YMCA’s yearly program that provides school supplies for children in Baytown and the surrounding communities to help them start the school year.

Many employees also placed notes of encouragement to the students inside the backpacks. The backpacks will be given away during the Back to School Fair presented by the city of Baytown from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday at the Baytown Community Center located at 2407 Market Street.

For more information on the fair, contact Luis Sanchez at 281-420-5398 or email luis.sanchez@baytown.org.
