My family and I took advantage of the great Subway coupons inside The Baytown Sun this weekend. We had a get together and bought almost one of every sandwich advertised. Subway definitely saved the day. No prep, just fun.
The $5 footlong Customer Appreciation Month was an amazing deal (and it continues through July 4, one coupon per person per visit please).
You can choose from Meatball Marinara, Oven Roasted Chicken or Cold Cut Combo for this particular special.
If a footlong is more meal than you want in one sitting, go for the $3.79 six-inch Sub of the Day. Remember, you can always save the other half of the footlong for later.
On Monday the 6-inch Special is Sweet Onion Chicken Teriyaki and Tuesday: Oven Roasted Chicken.
Wednesday is Turkey Breast. Thursday: Italian B.M.T. (Big Meat Tasty).
Friday is Tuna day.
Saturday: Black Forest Ham and Sunday: Meatball Marinara.
The coupons are good through July 14 for a BOGO on a 6-inch sub. Buy one with a drink and get a free 6-inch sub of equal or lesser price. The only exception is the Club Collection of sandwiches. Extras are additional.
So, we ended up getting ten footlong sandwiches, cut in half, filled to the brim with a variety of tasty veggies and meats, complete with chips, sodas and flavored teas. The crowd favorite on tea was the watermelon.
I do believe my favorite bread is the Honey Oat. Black Forest Ham with spinach, tomatoes, black olives, Swiss cheese, a touch of iceberg lettuce, pickles and cucumbers did the trick for me.
I know what you are thinking. Pickles are cucumbers. Well, they start out as cucumbers, but one needs both on a Subway sandwich because both the texture and taste of the crisp cucumbers contrast with the deliciously sour and salty dill pickles.
To each her own.
