Traffic will be disrupted late nights the next several weekends as very large vessels are moved from the bank of Cedar Bayou at Highway 146 to the Enterprise Products construction site in Mont Belvieu.
Since the vessels are too large to make it under Interstate 10, they have to take a roundabout route that will close several streets as they are moved at a rate of 1 t 3 miles per hour, according to the Texas Department of Transportation.
On each affected weekend, the road closures on Friday night will be on northbound 146 to FM 565, then east to FM 3180, then north to just south of Interstate 10. On Saturday night, the movement will close the Interstate as the vessels are moved across (with traffic diverted to the feeder roads), then will be moved west on the westbound feeder to Highway 146, then north to Enterprise Products.
The movements will take place the weekends of:
• April 11-12
• April 18-19
• May 2-3
• May 9-10
• May 16-17.
The weekend of April 25-26 will not be included in the project due to the high traffic expected for the O’Reilly Spring Nationals at Royal Purple Raceway.
