Organizers of Relay for Life report that the planned movement of large vessels along FM 565 tonight will not disrupt the annual event at Royal Purple Raceway.
Some of the large pressure vessels that are now stored on open ground next to Highway 146 at Cedar Bayou will be moved down FM 565 some time after 10 p.m.
Lori Tadlock, one of the leaders of the Relay for Life event, said organizers have been in touch with law enforcement to ensure that traffic will be able to leave Royal Purple Raceway Park.
As the vessels are on the stretch of FM 565 between FM 1405 and Highway 99, law enforcement will divert exiting traffic from the event to avoid conflicts, Tadlock said.
“We are confident that all parties involved will do a great job in both accomplishing their goal of moving the vessels safely and allowing our attendees to exit easily and safely from our event!” she said.
